Steve Boney took the 100-yard freestyle in 53.6 seconds as De La Salle defeated Brother Rice, 55-50 in a Catholic League dual swimming meet yesterday. Rick Rennell won two races for Brother Rice, the 200 and 400-yard freestyle in 2:10.7 and 4:54.2.
Steve Waszak was a double winner in UD's 84-21 victory over Catholic Central. He won the 200 individual medley in 2:20.3 and the 100 butterfly in 57.6.
Ted Sliwinski set a school record of 1:10.4 for the 100 backstroke to highlight Notre Dame's 60-45 triumph over Benedictine.
